High-quality product and service that’s second to none

Vail Ski resort in Colorado was the most-visited resort in America in 2018 according to Travel and Leisure magazine. At 5289 acres it’s the USA’s third-largest single-mountain ski resort, and fourth in North America for most skiable terrain. Managing and maintaining the runs throughout the season is a massive job, especially when it comes to ensuring adequate snow coverage when Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate.

In fact, in 2019 the Vail resort is embarking on North America’s largest snowmaking enhancement project. They’re installing 421 new snow guns to cover more than 500 acres of snowmaking. And ensuring those snow guns are performing efficiently is key to this project’s success.

Serck Radiator in Denver have been maintaining the SpecialName Coolers for Vail resorts since 19XX, ensuring their snow-making capabilities are ready to maximize the available terrain, regardless of the natural conditions. Servicing these units to ensure peak water flows and accurate outputs means the resort is able to accurately forecast and optimize its snowmaking water and power needs, saving $$$.

“When we’re welcoming over a million visitors from all over the world every winter, we can’t afford to disappoint them with inadequate terrain” said Joe Bloggs, the head of snow canon maintenance. “We rely on our over 500 snow cannons to perform well throughout the season, building up our base and adding important layers of snow especially in the earlier and later parts of the season. Serck are super at turning around our coolers with fast, quality work that’s ready to deal with our high altitude conditions all season long.”

They chose Serck because the shop has always been able to deliver high quality work on a tight timeline, ensuring the terrain maintenance team at Vail can confidently open and ensure an excellent experience for each of its 1.6 million annual visitors.
